The Three Little Pigs

Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who lived in a forest. They decided to build their own houses, so they could be safe and secure from the big, bad wolf that roamed around the forest. The first little pig built his house out of straw. It was quick and easy, and he thought it would be enough to keep him safe. The second little pig built his house out of sticks. It was a little bit stronger than the first pig's house, but still not strong enough to withstand the big, bad wolf. The third little pig, however, was the wisest of them all. He built his house out of bricks, knowing that it would be the strongest and most secure house of all. The other two pigs laughed at him, thinking he was wasting his time and effort. One day, the big, bad wolf came to the forest and saw the three little pigs' houses. He approached the first little pig's house and blew it down with a single breath. The little pig ran to his brother's house, made of sticks, but the wolf blew tha...

The Ant and the Grasshopper

In a beautiful meadow, there lived an ant and a grasshopper. The ant was a diligent worker who spent his days gathering food and preparing for the winter season. The grasshopper, on the other hand, was carefree and enjoyed singing and dancing all day long. As the summer months passed, the ant stored up food and built a cozy shelter to protect himself from the cold winter. The grasshopper, however, continued to play and didn't bother preparing for the harsh winter ahead. When winter finally arrived, the grasshopper found himself cold, hungry, and without shelter. He then went to the ant's house, begging for food and shelter. The ant reminded him of how he spent his summer working hard and preparing, while the grasshopper just played and wasted his time. The grasshopper realized his mistake and felt ashamed of his carelessness. He knew he should have followed the ant's example and prepared for the future. From that day on, the grasshopper learned to be more responsible and ...

The Tortoise and the Hare

Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a hare and a tortoise. The hare was very proud of his speed, while the tortoise was known for his slow and steady pace. One day, the hare started boasting about his speed and challenged the tortoise to a race. The tortoise accepted the challenge and the race began. The hare, being very fast, soon left the tortoise far behind and decided to take a nap in the shade of a tree, thinking he had plenty of time to win the race. However, he fell asleep for longer than he intended. In the meantime, the tortoise continued to walk slowly but steadily toward the finish line. When the hare finally woke up and realized that the tortoise was near the finish line, he ran as fast as he could to catch up. But it was too late, the tortoise had already crossed the finish line and won the race. The hare was very surprised and disappointed by the result. He had underestimated the determination and perseverance of the tortoise. From that day on, the hare learned to ...

He approached the village elder and asked, "How is it that your people are so content when they have so little? I have all the riches in the world, but I am not happy." The village elder smiled and replied, "We have learned that true happiness comes from within. We have our families, our friends, and our community. We are grateful for what we have, and we do not waste our time and energy pursuing material possessions." The wealthy merchant was struck by the wisdom of the elder's words. He realized that he had been chasing after happiness in all...

Advantages of glass bottles over plastic become clear

There's a reason wine and spirits are stored in glass: purity of taste. Plastic (and, to a lesser degree, metal) can impart various "flavors" into the liquids it comes into contact with. But that's just one reason that glass is an increasingly popular alternative to plastic and aluminum or stainless-steel sport-style bottles. Another is peace of mind. About five years ago, scientists and the   Food and Drug Administration   started issuing warnings about bisphenol A, commonly called BPA, a chemical used in plastics and in the linings of some metal vessels. Then, in 2010, the FDA recommended that parents avoid using bottles and cups containing BPA when feeding infants. That warning was enough to prompt many plastic-bottle manufacturers to start making BPA-free bottles. And it motivated many consumers to look for alternatives for their older children and themselves. Enter glass. "Glass is made from naturally abundant materials — pr...
