The Monkey King and the Mangoes

Image
The Monkey King and the Mangoes Once upon a time, there was a monkey king named Kapi who lived in a forest with his tribe. One day, Kapi saw a mango tree full of ripe and juicy mangoes. He wanted to eat them all but knew that he couldn't do it alone. So, he called upon his tribe and told them about the mango tree. They all agreed to help Kapi get the mangoes, and he promised to share them equally among them. Kapi was a wise monkey and knew that the mangoes were not only delicious but also valuable. He decided to sell them in the market and earn some money. The monkeys collected all the mangoes and carried them to the market. Kapi went to the market and found a buyer who was willing to pay a high price for the mangoes. As Kapi was bargaining with the buyer, a group of hungry dogs passed by. They saw the mangoes and started barking at the monkeys, trying to scare them away. The monkeys got scared and ran away, leaving behind the mangoes. Kapi, being the wise king, knew that he had t...

Heart Touching Story…..with a Moral A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled:  “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility?” The doctor smiled & said:  “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call…… And now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work” “Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??”   said the father angrily The doctor smiled again & replied:   “I will say what Job said in the Holy Book “From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God”. Bring Life in your Relationships NOW

While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, Oregon, I had one of those life-changing experiences that you hear other people talk about — the kind that sneaks up on you unexpectedly. This one occurred a mere two feet away from me. Straining to locate my friend among the passengers deplaning through the jet way, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family. First he motioned to his youngest son (maybe six years old) as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other’s face, I heard the father say, “It’s so good to see you, son. I missed you so much!” His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly, “Me, too, Dad!” Then the man stood up, gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe nine or ten) and while cupping his son’s face in his hands said, “You’re already quite the young man. I love you very much, Zach!” They too hug...

An Inspirational Story for today ~ Weakness or Strength Sometimes our biggest weakness can become our biggest strength. Take, for example, the story of one 10-year-old boy who decided to study Judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident. The boy began lessons with an old Japanese Judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn’t understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move. “Sensei,” the boy finally said, “Shouldn’t I be learning more moves?” “This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you’ll ever need to know.” – the sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training. Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one m...

Do you know who she is…?? You may know Kareena, Katrina,Deepika, Madhuri and Sridevi, but I can confidently say that 95% of Indians would not know this brave lady. Neerja Bhanot was the senior flight purser on the ill-fated Pan Am Flight 73, hijacked by four heavily armed terrorists after it landed at Karachi at 5 am from Mumbai. PA 73 was en route to Frankfurt and onward to New York City. Neerja alerted the cockpit crew about the hijack and, as the plane was on the tarmac, the three-member cockpit crew of pilot, co-pilot and the flight engineer were able to flee from the aircraft. Neerja, being the most senior cabin crew member on board, took charge. The hijackers were part of the Palestinian Abu Nidal terrorist organization and were backed by Libya. They immediately shot dead a passenger who identified himself to the terrorists as being an American. The terrorists then instructed Neerja to get the passports collected of all the passengers, so that they could identify the Amer...
